“Her mood was coming back to her. One must keep on looking without for a second relaxing the intensity of emotion, the determination not to be put off, not to be put off, not to be bamboozled. One must hold the scene-so-in a vise and let nothing come in and spoil it. One wanted, she thought, dipping her brush deliberately, to be on a level with ordinary experience, to feel simply that’s a chair, that’s a table, and yet at the same time, It’s a miracle, it’s an ecstasy.”-To The Lighthouse, Virginia Woolf
I finished reading To The Lighthouse. Cherish ordinary experiences.
After the resurrection Jesus appeared to his disciples on two different days, one week apart and greeted them: “Peace be with you.”
-John 20:19, 27
You feel complete peace in the presence of God.
The Unchangeable Spots of Leopards by Kristopher Jansma is a hilariously wonderful first novel (2013) with interconnecting crisscrossing stories. The novel starts and ends with the same lines. Kudos to the author.
I recently watched and enjoyed with Mrs. Abstract an old movie, The Little Romance, starring Lawrence Olivier and 2 young actors(1979).
I’m still not finished with Woolf’s To The Lighthouse, a reading I have to do with my eCourse on The Modern and Postmodern. Then maybe I’ll continue with Swann’s Way.
