a time of our striving

Some of us are nearest to oblivion
Breaths away from the ancients
Others are mere saplings
Lacking deep roots and layers of leaves
We moor or become transients
Words written or words forgotten
We are imperfections
Setbacks and flaws are “parts of our striving”
a pilgrim’s journey to meet the perfect one.
Sometimes we look out of the window.
Yesterday we heard a symphony
Rain, thunder, and mysterious lights
And how the day poured all the colors.
