Julia Cameron writes, “As writers, we draw on an inner fund of images that I call ‘the well’… an inner pond.” … ‘Why is the work drying up just when it was going so well?’”
“Very often work dries up precisely because it was going so well.We have simply overfished our inner reservoir,” she says. She advises to replenish the pond by having an “Artist Date.” “Simply”, she says, “a once-weekly solitary expedition to something festive that interest us”. It can be a museum, a gallery, “something fascinating and to go there alone.” Why? To romance and court your “creative consciousness.”
