The rain pours and storm is coming
Snow covers the mountains
Rivers may overflow
Inside is festive
And keeping warm.

“Create in me a new heart, O God.”
note: I’m reading The Snow Leopard by Peter Matthiessen for our group read.
“I have found that sitting in a place where you have never sat before can be inspiring―I wrote my very best poem while sitting on the hen-house.
“How much one can learn in an hour?”
“Perhaps watching someone you love suffer can teach you even more than suffering yourself can.”
-Dodie Smith, I Capture the Castle.
note: I just finished reading I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. First published in 1948. A love story. Meta-writing.Very good read. Enjoyable.
Why does beauty sometimes make us
feel sad and unselfishness
looks so bewildering?
We live in interpretive world
walking a path of expectations
strewn with attainments and praises.
Our efforts carry promises
measured movement forward
gentle steps that will not frighten a cat.
Share your laughter with the world
audaciously unfold your mirth
cathartic and contagious.
One truck arrives, one truck leaves
hauling and dumping dirt soil and uprooted trees
catalogue of losses: shades and shelters.
What is real?
What is illusion?
Sharpen the pencil, begin writing
you don’t need a giant wave to rise.
